Every now and again, however, we hear of someone that has come up with something original and taken the opportunity to use their new-found wealth to do something that would have been completely impossible for them in any other circumstances.

Last week, in Glasgow, Scotland, the relatively unknown name of John Kelly ran onto the field in the final 20 minutes to face up to the formidable Manchester United Football team, who were visiting Celtic Park that weekend. He replaced someone whose name you may well be familiar with, Gerhard Butler, of Hollywood fame. Who knew he was a bit of a footballer?

Young Kelly, dragging a physique more accustomed to his day-job of apprentice car mechanic around the pitch, faced up alongside Henrick Larsson and Roy Keane in front of 55,000 Parkhead fans and actually handled himself rather well.

How did he manage this you may ask? Well, Johns' mum is Angela Kelly, the East Kilbride resident that took home a whopping €52,000,000 in 2007. John picked up the opportunity to run on for Celtic at a charity auction earlier in the year.
